Realising the need to mobilise and politicise Generation Z, the DMK on Saturday organised a meeting titled ‘Gen Z DMK.’ Enthused by the participation of the youngsters, party president M.K. Stalin said that “the future holds lot of hope”. “The energy level increases even though we are in the Opposition. This is DMK,” he said in a social media post carrying the signatures of those who participated.

Former Minister T.R.B. Raaja said no one could dare write off the DMK.

Senior advocate and DMK legal wing secretary N.R. Elango, said that the youngsters powerfully explained the ideals of Dravidianism in a language that was new to the party’s senior leaders. “But soon we will understand it,” he said.

Referring to discussions on the local body elections due in the State, he said Tamil Nadu could even witness another Assembly poll. “The government is not functioning in accordance with the law and the Constitution. Kalaignar [M. Karunanidhi] showed the world how to run a minority government. But the present rulers are not willing to learn from that example.” He advised the youth to use gentle language and not stoop to the level of their opponents.
