Vijayapura-based BLDE Deemed University has signed an academic agreement with the University of Illinois, Chicago, U.S.

This allows students of the two institutions to choose elective subjects to study in each other’s campus.

“Dr. Meghana, who is now an intern, has been selected for elective subject training in the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Illinois . Such international academic collaborations will create new opportunities for the future of students, and will help in better growth in the fields of education and research at the global level. It will be implemented from this academic year. Accordingly, the faculty and students of B.L.D.E. will get new opportunities to gain academic experience and global exposure from foreign universities,” said M. M. Patil, Dean of BLDEDU Research Department.

Arun Inamdar, BLDEDU V-C, travelled to USA in March. He met Prabhakar Bellur, Associate Dean, Department of International Health, University of Illinois, Chicago. Their discussions led to the agreement that enabled an academic partnership between the two universities.

The initiative was taken up under the guidance of BLDEDU Chancellor Basanagouda M. Patil, Pro-Chancellor Y. M. Jayaraj, Registrar Raghavendra Kulkarni, and Principal of the medical college Tejaswini Vallabh.
