Revanth should tender resignation: BJP

The Telangana BJP has demanded that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy step down if he is unable to ensure the effective functioning of the government machinery, particularly in addressing farmers’ crop procurement woes.

Addressing the concluding meeting of the party’s ongoing tour at Sarangpur in Nirmal district, BJP Legislature Party leader MLA A. Maheshwar Reddy alleged that the Chief Minister has failed to fulfil even a single promise made to farmers over the past two years.

He further accused the Congress government of focusing more on real estate activities than on governance, remarking that it seemed intent on “mastering the art of selling land and identifying properties to encroach upon.”

Claiming that BJP MPs and MLAs had travelled over 1,000 km across the State, Mr. Maheshwar Reddy said they found that less than 40% of the grain had been procured. He alleged that hundreds of quintals of produce were lying in threshing yards — soaked, blackened, and sprouting — leaving farmers in distress.

The BJP would stand firmly with farmers and continue to pressurise the government to address their grievances, he added.
