Vizianagaram in-charge Collector Sedhu Madhavan on Saturday (May 23, 2026) asked people from all walks of life, government staff should strive hard to make the Fort City as one of the cleanest cities of the country. He said that Andhra Pradesh’s Heritage City’s value would be enhanced if it looked good with cleanliness. As part of operation clean drive, he took part in sanitation works, painting of dirty walls, planting of saplings in different places of Vizianagaram.

Speaking to media on the occasion, he said that cities like Indoor, Navi Mumbai, Surat and Visakhapatnam had been getting Union government’s Swachh Survekshan ranks consistently with the joint efforts of public and civic bodies of the respective corporations.

He urged people not to throw garbage on roads and drainages and open areas since they would lead to multiple problems and health hazards. Vizianagaram MLA Aditi Vijayalakshmi and Vizianagaram Municipal Commissioner B. Bala Swamy were present.
