Members of Parliament Bansuri Swaraj (Delhi) and D. Purandeswari (Rajamahendravaram), and Minister of Tourism Kandula Durgesh on Sunday appealed to the people to support the idea of ‘One Nation-One Election’.

Addressing a meeting organised by the BJP on the topic, Ms. Purandeswari said the election expenditure could be saved by conducting elections to the Lok Sabha and State Assemblies simultaneously.

“The One Nation-One Election, which is called Jamili, helps the country save time, increase Gross National Product and increase the number of working hours of the nation by utilising the time dedicated for the election code of conduct,” said Ms. Purandeswari.  Representatives of the Congress and Left parties were present.
