Citizens join ‘3K Run for Lake’ at Saroornagar to support rejuvenation efforts

Thousands of citizens participated in a ‘3K Run for Lake’ organised at the Saroornagar Lake on Sunday, May 17, in support of lake rejuvenation and beautification efforts being undertaken by the Telangana government.

The event was organised by Telangana Congress Party spokesperson Daripally Rajashekar Reddy and witnessed participation from residents, environmental activists, youngsters and families.

Participants gathered early in the morning around the lake premises, with organisers describing the event as an effort to raise awareness on environmental conservation and urban sustainability. Citizens took part in the run calling for the protection and restoration of water bodies in Hyderabad.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Reddy said the turnout reflected public support for ecological restoration and sustainable urban development. “Citizens and the administration must work together to preserve lakes and improve the city’s environmental conditions,” he said.

Officials present at the event highlighted the importance of public participation in conservation initiatives and stressed the need for community involvement in maintaining urban water bodies.
