Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has invited investors from New Jersey to invest in Kerala. He was speaking after meeting New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy here in Kochi on Saturday (September 20, 2025), according to an official communication.

Pointing out the similarities in development indicators between the State and New Jersey, the Chief Minister said there is great potential for investment and cooperation in the education sector. He added that, being an investment-friendly State, Kerala further invites New Jersey business leaders to invest in the State.

A high-level team led by New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy arrived in Kochi to assess investment opportunities here. Mr. Murphy said he would strengthen ties between New Jersey and Kerala. He added that their goal was to increase cooperation in various sectors, including industry, higher education, humanitarian assistance, and other areas where mutual collaboration was possible. Mr. Murphy also highlighted the potential for joint investments and job creation.

“The State is equipped with all the essential facilities required by industries. Kerala is a favoured destination for investors in sectors such as tourism, industry, and technology,” Mr. Vijayan said. The Chief Minister also expressed hope that the visit of the New Jersey delegation would further strengthen ties between the two States, the communication said.
