The use of robotic technology to precisely diagnose leaks in the underground water and sewage pipeline network has prevented road cutting along 399 stretches in the last six months, the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) said on Thursday.

The technology has been in use since November 2025. “A total of 32,661 metres of pipeline has been checked using this technology over the last six months, and of the 404 complaints during this period, 399 have been resolved without extensive road cutting. The remaining five complaints are also being resolved,” the BWSSB said in a statement.

“Road cutting inconveniences people and commuters on the street. This new technology has prevented such inconvenience along 399 stretches in six months,” said V. Ram Prasath Manohar, Chairman, BWSSB.
