The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 12 results were declared on Wednesday (May 13, 2026).

The overall pass percentage has dipped by over three percentage points compared to last year. A total of 1,768,968 students appeared for the exam in the 2026 session, and the pass percentage has dropped from 88.39% to 85.20%.

Thiruvananthapuram recorded the highest pass percentage at 95.62%, while Prayagraj recorded the lowest pass percentage at 72.43%.

Girls continue to dominate the academic rankings, achieving an 88.86% pass rate — surpassing the boys’ 82.13% by a clear 6.73%.

Over 1,63,000 students have been placed in the compartment category, an increase of nearly 2% compared to last year.

Over 94,000 students scored more than 90% of the marks, while more than 17,000 candidates scored above 95%.
