Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) of India Gyanesh Kumar, accompanied by his family members, offered prayers at the Lord Venkateswara temple in Tirumala on Saturday (May 9, 2026).

He had darshan during the Srivani darshan break in the evening. TTD officials, led by Joint Executive Officer Veerabrahmam, facilitated the darshan. Priests later rendered ‘asirvachanams’ on him and his entourage inside the temple.

Earlier in the day, Mr. Gyanesh Kumar had darshan of Goddess Padmavati Ammavaru at the temple in Tiruchanoor.

The CEC’s visit comes after the Election Commission of India (ECI) concluded the Assembly elections in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Assam and Puducherry.

.Earlier in the day, Telugu Desam Party Minister Ponguru Narayana had darshan of Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy at Tirumala in the morning during the Abhishekam ceremony. According to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), every Friday after Suprabhatha Seva, the regular Thomala and Archana Sevas are conducted in privacy, followed by the Srivari Abhishekam.
