Three innovative ventures were honoured at the 14th edition of the ChinniKrishnan Innovation Awards 2025 that was held in Chennai on Saturday. Each winning venture was awarded₹1 lakh, a trophy, and a citation, along with access to CavinKare’s in-depth industry support, spanning marketing, finance, design, packaging, R&D, and HR to help scale their innovations for real-world impact.

The first venture Avay Biosciences has come up with a breakthrough 3D bioprinting platform that eliminates the need for animal testing in preclinical drug trials.

The second venture Dhanvantri Biomedical Pvt Ltd has developed the Sahayatha Wheelchair, the world’s first wheelchair with an integrated toilet, cleaning system, and water storage.

Urdhvam Environmental Technologies Pvt Ltd was also awarded at the event. The firm has developed the ‘Bore Charger’, a patented smart rainwater harvesting system that restores low-yielding or dry borewells without the need for construction or maintenance.

The Chief Guest for the event, R. Dinesh, Executive Chairman, TVS Supply Chain Solutions, lauded the thought process in bringing out these innovations. C.K. Ranganathan, Chairman & Managing Director of CavinKare, remarked, “The achievements of these innovators remind us that true innovation is about creating solutions that improve lives, redefine possibilities, and inspire others to think differently.” Lakshminarayanan Duraiswamy, President, Madras Management Association, said that the 300-plus nominations received this year highlight the “exponential growth of India’s innovation ecosystem.” Instituted in 2011 in memory of the visionary late Shri R. ChinniKrishnan, whose innovations significantly spearheaded the FMCG industry, the award, since its inception, has recognised and celebrated39 exemplary entrepreneurial ventures from across India.
