On the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Uttar Pradesh administration has been put on alert mode, taking seriously the loss of lives caused by storm, rain and lightning in the state. On Tuesday (May 05, 2026), the CM expressed condolences to the families of the deceased and gave strict instructions to ensure quick and proper treatment of the injured and to provide relief compensation to all affected within 24 hours.

He also directed District Magistrates to stay in the field, continuously monitor relief and rescue work, and ensure that there is no negligence at any level.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed deep sorrow over the disaster and conveyed his condolences to the families of the deceased. He directed officials to ensure proper and immediate treatment of the injured. He also instructed that compensation for loss of life, livestock, and injuries be provided within 24 hours. He made it clear that any kind of negligence in relief work will not be tolerated.

The weather department has issued a warning of strong storms, rain and lightning in several districts over the next 24 hours. The administration has appealed to people to stay indoors during bad weather and avoid open areas, trees, and electric poles.

CM Yogi Adityanath has directed all District Magistrates to remain in the field, monitor relief work, and coordinate with the government for necessary resources. Relief and rescue teams are continuously active in affected areas to deal with any emergency situation quickly.
