YSRCP calls for vigilance on SIR

State coordinator of the YSR Congress Party, Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, has called for heightened vigilance within the party over the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
Addressing party leaders through a Zoom meeting on Wednesday, he urged all 175 Assembly Constituency coordinators to develop a strong technical understanding of the electoral list revision process and closely monitor ground-level developments to prevent the deletion of YSRCP supporters’ votes. He alleged that similar exercises in States like West Bengal and Tamil Nadu had led to large-scale voter deletions, and cautioned that restoring removed voters would be difficult.
He stressed for Booth Level Agents (BLAs) to be well-trained and work in coordination with Booth Level Officers (BLOs), especially as pressure on on election staff is expected to increase. He said a control room would be set up at the party’s central office, along with orientation programmes to strengthen technical preparedness.
Mr. Ramakrishna Reddy also reviewed upcoming statewide programmes related to farmers’ issues, hospital visits, and concerns over Aarogyasri. He urged leaders to ensure strong coordination and visibility across media platforms while highlighting the party’s welfare initiatives.
