An international cricket betting racket operating online from Philippines was busted by the Anantapur police and ₹19.70 lakh cash was seized while another ₹18.20 lakh in 49 bank accounts across nine banks were frozen by the police following the arrest of the accused.
Superintendent of Police P Jagadeesh told media persons on Tuesday (May 05) that the international online gaming racket was busted by the Kalyandurg police. The gang has members across the country and 60% of the illegally earned money goes to the kingpin while the remaining 40% to domestic associates. The SIM cards and bank passbooks were arranged locally for transactions through digital payment platforms and were sent to Philippines hidden inside parcels of cargo pants, the SP said.
