Andhra Pradesh has begun preparations for the Godavari pushkarams 2027 nearly 18 months in advance, three times longer than the lead-up to the 2015 festival, on the directions of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Tourism, Culture and Cinematography Minister Kandula Durgesh said.

Speaking at a review meeting held at the Secretariat in Velagapudi on Monday (May 4, 2026), under the chairmanship of Municipal Administration Minister P. Narayana, the Minister said nearly 10 crore devotees were expected to attend the festival, and ensuring the safety and convenience of pilgrims was the government’s top priority. He said the focus would be on executing the works with high quality and timely completion.
