K.L. Rajan, father of dental student R.L. Nithin Raj who was found dead on Kannur Dental College campus in Anjarakandy, has accused the authorities of shielding key accused in the case.
He claimed that the police were not making any efforts to arrest Dr. M.K. Ram, first accused in the case.
“At the ACP’s office, they took our visuals while questioning us, which is against the SC/ST Act. I was not aware of this until my lawyer told me. Why has Ram not been arrested yet? The police said the file has been moved to the Crime Branch office, but I have been visiting the office for the past six days and it has still not reached there. The police are not giving me any records or visuals to present as evidence before the High Court. Meanwhile, Ram has already applied for bail,” he added.
