The Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP’s) internal rift in Haryana over its Rajya Sabha MP Rekha Sharma’s remarks on former Chief Minister Bhajan Lal deepened on Sunday, with senior leader Kuldeep Bishnoi warning the party of consequences if she does not issue an immediate apology.

Breaking his silence a week after Ms. Sharma’s comments at a Panchkula election rally, Mr. Bishnoi – Bhajan Lal’s son who joined the BJP from Congress in 2022 – posted a video on X warning the party against “arrogance” and “disrespect to senior leaders”.
