Keerthi M.S., class 10 student of Vidya Sanskaar International Public School in Bengaluru, secured the gold medal at the CBSE National Taekwondo Championship held at Etawah in Uttar Pradesh in September.
With this victory, the 15-year-old becomes the only participant from Karnataka to represent the CBSE at the School Games Federation of India (SGFI) Tournament, scheduled to be held in Jammu & Kashmir in November, according to her parents.
Keerthi began her taekwondo journey at the age of eight under the guidance of Master Jothimani Markandan and Assistant Coach Harsha R.
Over the years, she has achieved several milestones, including gold medals in the CBSE South Zone 2 Championships (2022 & 2023); silver medal in 2025 CBSE South Zone, which secured her entry into the Nationals; Gold medal at the 40th Karnataka State Level Taekwondo Championship. She is also two-time gold medalist in the Khelo India Women’s League.
