The police probing the ‘white collar drug party’ case, unearthed with a raid at a star hotel at Kadavanthra and the subsequent arrest of Kevin B. Mathew, allegedly a major drug dealer, has adopted a two-pronged strategy. The investigation, sources said, now focusses on tracing the source of the drugs allegedly supplied for high-profile parties as well as tracking down regulars at such rave parties.

With the police concluding the custodial interrogation of Mr. Mathew, who allegedly supplied narcotic substances for the drug party at the hotel, the probe is likely to be widened to Bengaluru and Delhi to identify the sources from where the drugs were procured. Mr. Mathew was arrested following leads from a group of eight professionals nabbed from the hotel on March 28 for alleged possession of drugs.

Sources said Mr. Mathew allegedly built a discreet drug distribution network by identifying regulars at DJ events and exclusive gatherings. His modus operandi involved cultivating a clientele of influential professionals including doctors, lawyers, and those from the entertainment industry, they added.
