People’s Democratic Party (PDP) leader Iltija Mufti, also the daughter of former J&K Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, on Friday (April 1, 2026) asked the J&K Police to stop summoning of netizens in the Valley in a First Information Report (FIR), days after she posted a video of deceased separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani’s speech on Urdu language’s importance for J&K.
“I take full responsibility for a recent video on Urdu that I tweeted. It has come to my notice that others who shared it are being summoned by the Cyber Police (of the J&K Police). I urge them not to do so and instead ask me whatever pressing questions they might have. I’m a law abiding citizen and will fully cooperate,” said Ms. Mufti, in a post on X.
