Tamil Nadu will experience above-normal maximum and minimum temperatures in May. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast above-normal rainfall this month, offering some respite.
In its outlook released on Friday (May 1, 2026), the IMD also outlined the likely impact of increased temperature, including on agriculture, and issued an agromet advisory. The State’s coastal region so far as the Cauvery delta districts is expected to record three to five heatwave days.
