Telangana Cabinet Ministers expressed willingness to contribute 50% of their salaries, along with those of public representatives, towards settling the dues to retired employees, if need be. This was among the decisions taken by the Cabinet on Thursday (April 23, 2026) to clear ₹8,000 crore due to the retired employees and ₹6,200 crore to regular employees in 100 days.

Stating that the previous (Bharat Rashtra Samithi) government, which was in power for 10 years, had left pending bills running into thousands of crores, it said there were no arrears at the time of Telangana formation. Besides increasing retirement age, retirement benefits were not paid which led to issues to pensioners and their families.
