Brisk polling was peacefully under way in the 41 constituencies across nine districts in the central region of Tamil Nadu Thursday noon (April 23, 2026), with voters braving the scorching heat to exercise their franchise.

Nearly 18% of voters cast their votes in the nine Assembly constituencies in Tiruchi district in the first two hours of polling. It went up to about 38% by 11 a.m.
