Telangana Food Safety authorities destroyed 1,000 kg of raw onions and seized 480 kg of cooking oil during a raid on a food unit in Kukatpally on Wednesday.

The department, acting on inputs from the SOT Police, inspected M/s Naseeb Birhsta at Kaithalapur, and uncovered serious violations. Officials found that used cooking oil was being procured and reused for the bulk preparation of fried onions, raising concerns over public health risks, said a release.
