Emotional scenes unfolded in front of the mortuary of the Thrissur Medical College Hospital (MCH) in Kerala as a body of a victim of the devastating Mundathikode fireworks blast was brought out after a post-mortem examination on Wednesday (April 22, 2026) morning.

Suma wailed and screamed as she accompanied the mortal remains of her brother, Manikandan, a 60-year-old who worked at the fireworks factory in Mundathikode in Thrissur, where the massive explosion killed 13 people and injured several others.
