Hyderabad witnessed a sudden spell of moderate rainfall accompanied by hailstorms and strong winds on the evening of Sunday (April 19), catching residents and commuters unprepared across several parts of the city. The showers also brought much-needed relief to residents after a week of extreme maximum temperatures.

The weather shifted abruptly after 4 p.m., when clear skies gave way to dense cloud cover, followed by thunder and gusty winds. The unexpected downpour left many commuters scrambling for shelter. Motorists were seen halting at bus stops and under metro stations to avoid the rain and hail.
