Chenchu women oppose relocation from Amrabad Tiger Reserve

Chigurla Eeramma is vexed with the forest officials as they keep telling the Chenchu woman from the Nallamala hinterlands that she and her ilk must relocate to non-forest areas because the tiger population is increasing in the Amrabad Tiger Reserve.

“We haven’t received forest pattas. We haven’t been given Indiramma houses and say we will have to shift from here anyway,” Eeramma says, resignation evident in her voice.
