Calling DMK president and Chief Minister M.K. Stalin his “brother”, Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi asserted on Saturday that the Congress had never attacked, threatened, or exploited the DMK in Tamil Nadu when the national party was in power in New Delhi.

He was in Ranipet district to campaign for Congress candidate A.M. Munirathinam for the Sholinghur Assembly constituency, in the presence of Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president K. Selvaperunthagai, All India Congress Committee in-charge for Tamil Nadu Girish Chodankar, and Minister for Handlooms and Textiles R. Gandhi, who is also the DMK candidate for the Ranipet Assembly seat.
