Governor to inaugurate Sankara Jayanthi celebrations

Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar will inaugurate the Sree Sankara Jayanthi celebrations organised by Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit on its main campus at Kalady on April 21.

Writer C. Radhakrishnan and Swami Narasimhananda will deliver lectures on the occasion. Ciza Thomas, Vice-Chancellor, and R. Ajayan, member of the Syndicate, will speak, according to a release.

The celebrations organised by Yogakshema Sabha and Sree Sankara Trust will be held at Sree Sankara Vidyapeetom College in Perumbavoor. K. Jayakumar, president of the Travancore Devaswom Board, will inaugurate the programme. The ‘Sreesankara Vedaratna’ award will be presented to scholar Varanakod Govindan Namboodiri on the occasion, said the release.
