From river restoration and wetland protection to climate governance and industrial accountability, environmental issues have found a place in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly election manifestos. 

A closer reading of the manifestos of the DMK, AIADMK, BJP, NTK, PMK, VCK, and CPI(M), however, shows that while parties partly identify similar problems, they differ in how they propose to address them.
