Prime Minister Narendra Modi recalled the efforts of late Sri Balagangadharanatha swamiji in conserving peacocks, highlighting the seer’s compassion not only towards humans but also animals and birds.

He said the seer’s initiatives reflected a concern for the environment conservation and cultural values, noting that the peacock is India’s national bird and also the vahana of Lord Subramanya.
