Kerala HC steps in to end reported instances of forum shopping

The names of vacation judges of the Kerala High Court, who will be holding the vacation sitting during the current summer vacation, will not be publicised in advance.

The move initiated by the judiciary is being seen as part of the efforts to end the reported attempts of forum shopping in the High Court. Forum shopping in judicial parlance is described as the practice of lawyers tactically moving petitions before specific judges, other than the ones for whom the cases are allotted under the roster system, to reportedly secure favourable orders.
