Indian-born female cheetah has given birth to four cubs in the wild at Madhya Pradesh’s Kuno National Park, Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav said on Saturday (April 11, 2026), calling it a “major milestone in India’s cheetah conservation journey”.

Sharing the news in a social media post, Mr. Yadav said the 25-month-old female delivered the cubs after spending more than a year in the wild. The mother is said to be an offspring of Gamini, a female cheetah translocated from South Africa.
