In a first-of-its-kind initiative in Telangana, the Cyberabad police on Friday (April 10, 2026) launched an electric vehicle patrol fleet in collaboration with the Society for Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC), marking a shift towards environmentally sustainable policing.

The fleet includes three electric cars and seven technologically advanced bikes, aimed at strengthening patrolling capabilities while reducing carbon emissions. In addition, 15 electric bicycles have also been introduced to improve mobility in congested areas, narrow lanes and high-footfall zones, where conventional vehicles often face limitations. The police said the bicycles would enable quicker response times and better community engagement.
