The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) has set in motion the promotion process following an approval by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
The Corporation’s vice-chairman and managing director N. Balasubramanyam said the long-pending promotions in gazetted cadres had been cleared after a gap since 2021.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) held at the RTC House on Monday (April 6, 2026). The Committee examined and approved promotions in seven Gazetted cadres. They include the posts of Assistant Manager (T) – 46, Assistant Engineer (Mechanical) – 23, Assistant Manager (Personnel) – 24, Assistant Manager (Finance) – 24, Assistant Manager (Materials) – 15, Assistant Engineer (Civil) – 10 and Chief Security Inspector – 04.
Mr. Balasubramanyam said that out of the total 214 posts identified, the promotion process had been initiated for 146 eligible employees in the first phase. He said the entire process had been carried out in a transparent and impartial manner, in accordance with the government guidelines. “These promotions will enhance administrative efficiency and boost employee morale across the organisation,” he said.
The APSRTC MD said the government was committed to employee welfare and strengthening the Corporation, and that the promotion process would be continued on a regular basis.
Employee unions and the selected candidates have expressed happiness and appreciation, stating that the decision would bring new momentum to the organisation.
