A police trainee was found dead at the Special Armed Police (SAP) camp, Peroorkada, in Thiruvananthapuram on Thursday (September 18, 2025).
The deceased has been identified as Anand of Keezhpaloor in Aryanad. He was found hanging in a washroom at the camp.
Anand, who was the platoon leader of SAP B Company, had attempted to take his own life a few days ago as well. While he was subsequently admitted to the Thiruvananthapuram Government Medical College Hospital, the trainee was later brought back to the camp.
The reasons behind the suspected suicide are yet to be known.
