New Delhi:

National Film Award winner Suriya is all set to star in the Tamil film Karuppu alongside Trisha Krishnan in the lead roles. Directed by RJ Balaji, the film is slated to hit theaters on May 14, 2026.

On Friday, the makers announced the film’s Telugu title along with a new poster. The film is produced by SR Prabhu and SR Prakash Babu under the banner of Dream Warrior Pictures. Read on for more details. 

Suriya’s film Karuppu gets Telugu title VeeraBhadrudu

In the new poster, Suriya can be seen wearing a black shirt and a traditional black dhoti. He has a red tilak on his forehead and holds a large, curved, machete-like weapon. The background depicts a lively rural festival with decorated horses and a crowd of people.

Sharing the new poster of actor Suriya, the director RJ Balaji wrote, “#Karuppu in Telugu is #VeeraBhadrudu @actorsuriya @dreamwarriorpictures.” Take a look below:

Actor Suriya delighted his fans by sharing a new poster from the film Karuppu on New Year 2026. Along with the poster, he wrote, “Happy New Year, fam! Grateful for all the love…! Here’s to good vibes, good health, and lots of laughs! Happy 2026 #Karuppu.”

Karuppu: Production details

For the unversed, Karuppu, titled VeeraBhadrudu in Telugu, is produced under the banner of Dream Warrior Pictures. The music for the film is composed by Sai Abhyankkar, with cinematography is done by Kiran Koushik and GK Vishnu. The movie Karuppu is edited by R Kalaivanan. 

Suriya and Trisha Krishnan’s work front

On the professional front, Suriya was last seen in 2025 film Retro opposite Shriya Saran and Pooja Hegde. He will be next seen in family drama film, Vishwanath & Sons, writtem and directed by Venky Atluri. The film will be released in July 2026.

On the other hand, Trisha Krishnan was last seen in Mani Ratnam’s film Thug Life alongside Silambarasan TR and Kamal Haasan.
