Akshay Kumar‘s Bhooth Bangla, which was scheduled for release on April 10, will now hit the screens a week later. Producer Ektaa Kapoor issued a statement where she clearly mentioned that the move was thoughtfully decided by distributors and the exhibitors amid Dhurandhar: The Revenge’s roaring performance at the box office.
Bhooth Bangla postponed amid Dhurandhar Part 2 success
Bhooth Bangla, which marks Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan’s reunion after 14 years, will adopt a similar approach as Dhurandhar Part 2. The film will release on April 16 at 9 pm with paid previews. The ticket windows will open globally on April 17.
Ektaa’s statement can be read: “After a collective call with our distributors and the exhibitors, we have decided on a new release date for Bhooth Bangla, 16th April, with the first show starting at 9 p.m. Dhurandhar: The Revenge performing exceptionally well is a heartening news for our film industry and the exhibitors feel that this shift will allow both films the space, focus and attention they deserve. Bhooth Bangla release date has been postponed twice
Previously, Akshay Kumar’s Bhooth Bangla was slated for release on March 15. It was later changed to April 10. And now, the film has faced a date change again.
How much has Dhurandhar Part 2 earned at the box office so far?
Several films that were previously slated for release in March have shifted dates. Previously, Dhurandhar: The Revenge was slated to clash with Yash’s Toxic. However, the Kannada film’s release date was changed, citing reasons of Middle-east conflict.
According to trade tracker Sacnilk, on Day 14, Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge collected a net of Rs 20.10 crore across 17,906 shows. This takes the total India gross to Rs 1,101.47 crore, while the India net stands at Rs 920.02 crore so far. Overseas, the film earned Rs 7.00 crore on Day 14, pushing its total overseas gross to Rs 365.00 crore. With this, the worldwide gross collection has reached Rs 1,466.47 crore.
