A devotee from Magadi in Bengaluru South district who had travelled to Nanjangud with his relatives to witness the ‘Pancha Maha Rathotsava’, died owing to suspected health complications on Monday (March 30) morning.

Superintendent of Police Mallikarjun Baladandi said the incident occurred much before the commencement of the Rathotsava. “We were informed that the man fainted amid the crowd. He appears to have died due to some health complications,” he said.

The deceased has been identified as B.N. Nanjunda Swamy. He reportedly experienced breathlessness and collapsed at the venue.

He was immediately rushed to a hospital in an ambulance with the help of town police personnel. However, he reportedly succumbed on the way.
