Wishes poured in from world leaders, party colleagues, allies, and Opposition leaders for Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his 75th birthday on Wednesday (September 17, 2025).

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, U.S. President Donald Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and former U.K. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak were among those who extended their greetings to Mr. Modi.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that under Mr. Modi’s leadership, India has become a centre of global aspirations. “From the Moon’s South Pole to the depths of the ocean in Dwarka (Gujarat), he [Mr. Modi] has brought glory to both heritage and science. Under his leadership, India is setting new milestones in the space sector. From indigenous COVID vaccines and defence systems to startups, innovation, ensuring fair prices for farmers’ crops, and advancing the manufacturing mission — Modi ji is building a self-reliant India across every sector,” Mr. Shah said.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief J.P. Nadda said that with the motto of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas’ (together with all, development for all, trust of all, and efforts of all), the Prime Minister had taken numerous transformative steps for the upliftment of all sections of society. “Under your visionary leadership, our nation’s spiritual and cultural heritage has gained global recognition. Your able guidance is a source of inspiration for all of us — countless BJP workers,” Mr. Nadda said.

The Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, wished Mr. Modi good health and a long life. Biju Janata Dal (BJD) supremo Naveen Patnaik, Samajwadi Party’s (SP) Akhilesh Yadav, and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati also conveyed their wishes.

Leaders from the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) also sent their wishes through posts on social media platform X. “We are truly fortunate to have the right leader at the right time, guiding our nation with clarity and determination. His absolute commitment to the people and our nation’s prosperity, reflected in ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ and the bold reforms he has championed, has touched countless lives and brought meaningful change across the country…”, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said.

Janata Dal-United (JD-U) supremo and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, along with Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party-Ram Vilas (LJP-RV) chief Chirag Paswan, also extended birthday wishes to the Prime Minister.
