The Thiruvallam police have arrested an accused in the murder of a youth following a bar altercation last month.

The accused has been identified as Akshay, 22, of Kunnumpuram. He has been accused in the murder of Sujith who was fatally stabbed by a group during the clash in Thiruvallam.

Sujith, who has been absconding since the incident, was apprehended by the police from Thampanoor.

Four others, Akhil, Akhilesh, Renjith and Nandu, had been arrested earlier in connection with the crime. With Akshay’s arrest, all of the accused in the case are now in custody, the police stated. The police produced the accused before a court, which remanded him in judicial custody.
