The State government’s prestigious programme ‘Divyang Shakti’ scheme was launched at the Maddilapalem RTC Depot in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday. Andhra Pradesh BJP State president P.V.N. Madhav, MLAs Velagapudi Ramakrishna Babu, P. Vishnukumar Raju, Ch. Vamsikrishna Srinivas, and District Collector M.N. Harendhira Prasad formally flagged off the buses.

District Collector M.N. Harendhira Prasad said that the State government has introduced the ‘Divyang Shakti’ scheme with the aim of providing financial relief and greater mobility to persons with disabilities, similar to the ‘Stree Shakti’ scheme for women. He said that the initiative would enable beneficiaries to travel freely, attend to their daily needs and engage in economic activities with ease.
