A fire broke out at the Telugu Desam Party office in Allur town of SPSR Nellore district on Saturday afternoon. However, no loss of life or property was reported in the incident.

According to Allur police officials, a distress call was received at 1.30 pm, following which the police rushed to the spot and alerted Fire Department personnel.

Firefighters from Kavali reached Allur within 20 minutes. By then, the patched roof of the TDP office had been completely burnt.

Though the exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, preliminary assessment suggests that it might have been triggered by an electrical short-circuit.

As the security staff had gone out for lunch, no one was present in the office when the incident occurred.
