Representatives from the gaming and e-sports industry called on Minister of Transport, Youth and Sports M. Ramprasad Reddy at the Secretariat on Friday and highlighted the need for a policy to promote the gaming sector in the State.

At the meeting, CII Director Madhurima Maniyara briefed the Minister on the rapid expansion of the gaming industry in India and the opportunities it offered for employment and skill development among the youth. The delegation highlighted the need for a comprehensive policy that would encourage skill development programmes, promote industry growth, and strengthen collaboration between industries and educational institutions.

Mr. Ramprasad Reddy said the State government was committed to promoting sectors that would generate employment and tap the talent of young people in modern and emerging sectors such as gaming and e-sports. “The government is keen on exploring policy measures that help nurture the gaming industry, while strengthening skill development and innovation among the youth,” he said.
