A two-year-old boy died after he accidentally fell from the balcony of a house in Thorapadi falling under Vellore Corporation limits on Wednesday.

Police said the deceased was identified as M. Lokesh, son of S. Mani, 35, a wage labourer, and M. Indumathi, 28. Initial inquiry revealed that the family was living on the second floor in a rented house for the past few months. The couple was busy with household work and had left their son in the balcony with a few toys.

The police said that when the couple went looking for their son, they found the body of the boy on the ground floor. A case was registered by Bagayam police.
