A two-day workshop ‘Fundamentals and Applications of Quantum Materials’ organised by the department of sciences at Indian Institute of Information Technology Design and Manufacturing (IIITDM-Kurnool) concluded on Saturday (March 7).

The workshop brought together students, researchers and faculty members to explore the emerging field of quantum materials and their technological applications. The sessions focused on fundamental concepts as well as recent advancements in the study of quantum phenomena in materials.

On the second day, Dr. Koteswara Rao, an invited speaker from Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati, delivered lectures on entanglement and coherence in quantum materials. His sessions provided participants with a deeper understanding of the quantum mechanical principles governing advanced materials and their potential applications in future technologies. Participants actively engaged in discussions and interactive learning activities, making the sessions highly productive and engaging.

At the valedictory session, certificates were distributed to all participants in recognition of their successful completion of the workshop. Mr. Pavan Venu Prakash Madduri, workshop coordinator from the department of sciences, expressed gratitude to the resource persons, organisers and participants for their involvement and for contributing to the success of the event.

The workshop served as a platform for knowledge exchange and encouraged young researchers to explore the rapidly evolving domain of quantum materials.
