As many as 130 Maoists, including members of the People’s Liberation Guerrilla Army (PLGA) linked to former senior Maoist leader Tippiri Thirupati alias Devuji, have surrendered before Telangana Chief Minister & Home Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Saturday (March 7, 2026) at the Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) in Hyderabad.

Days earlier, CPI (Maoist) Politburo member and Central Committee Member (CCM), Tippiri Thirupati alias Devuji alias Kumma Dada and CCM Malla Raji Reddy alias Sangram surrendered before Telangana Director General of Police B. Shivadhar Reddy.

The Chief Minister inspected firearms and other weapons that were handed over to the police by the surrendered Maoists. A total of 266 weapons were surrendered to the police, including INSAS (Indian Small Arms System) rifles, AK-47 assault rifles, SLR (Self-Loading Rifles), bolt-action rifles, .303 rifles, US-made carbines, 9mm pistols, 7.62mm rifles, 8mm bolt-action rifles, single-shot rifles, BGLs (Breech Loading Guns), grenade launchers, and stun guns.

The DGP said that with the return of several senior leaders to the mainstream, the Telangana State Committee of the outfit has effectively become defunct.

Police said underground cadres of CPI (Maoist) who choose to surrender will receive support and protection under the Telangana government’s rehabilitation and reintegration programme.

Besides Devuji and Sangram, those who rejoined the mainstream earlier are Telangana State Committee secretary Bade Chokka Rao alias Damodar alias Jagan and State Committee member Nune Narsimha Reddy alias Ganganna alias Sannu Dada.
