Having sought seats in “double digits” from the DMK for the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, the Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM), led by actor Kamal Haasan, held its urgent governing and executive council meeting at the party headquarters in Chennai to discuss the various permutations and combinations.

MNM sources said that “no conclusive” decisions were taken on whether the the party should contest on the DMK’s ‘Rising Sun’ symbol or its own ‘Battery Torch’ symbol.

“We don’t know how many seats we are going to contest from. No decision was taken about the symbol on which we must contest either,” he said.
