The summer temperature in Telangana is near 40°C as the maximum recorded on Thursday (March 5, 2026) was 39°C — in Mangapet of Mulugu. This was followed by 38.9°C in Adilabad, Khammam and Dharmapur of Jagtial, and 38.7°C in Bheemaram of Mancherial, according to Telangana Development Planning Society data.

In Hyderabad, the maximum temperature was 37°C in Asifnagar, 36.8°C in Ghatkesar of Medchal Malkajgiri and 37.9°C in Maheshwaram of Rangareddy.

People may experience the summer becoming intense over the weekend as India Meteorological Department-Hyderabad Centre on Friday (March 6, 2026) forecast maximum temperature likely to be 2°C to 3°C above normal in isolated pockets of Telangana during the next three days. Only 11 districts were predicted to record less than 36°C on Friday and Saturday.

On Tuesday, the Southern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Limited recorded peak electricity demand of 4,421 megawatts in Greater Hyderabad and attributed the surge to increase in usage of air conditioners and coolers.
