KHAMMAM

Aggrieved members of poor families displaced by the recent demolition drive in Bhoodan lands at Velugumatla in Khammam narrated their tale of woes to the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST) member Jatothu Hussain Nayak in Khammam on Sunday.

Mr. Nayak on Sunday visited Ambedkar Bhavan in the town, where the displaced families have been provided temporary shelter.

Members of the displaced families, mainly labourers, alleged that they were rendered homeless following the demolition of their houses.

They poured out their woes before the NCST member saying the demolition drive left them in the lurch. They sought construction of houses at the same site.

Mr. Nayak gave a patient hearing to the displaced families mostly belonging to weaker sections and assured to take up the issue with the authorities concerned.
